Parish Youth Formation Ministry
CYA is committed to promoting comprehensive youth ministry. As a collaborative organization, CYA responds to the diocese's initiative to promote the Catholic version of Alpha ACTS. CYA's full-time or part-time staff members serve as companions and assist in leading youth gatherings in parish communities, targeting young people who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation or those who are not yet Catholic. They provide support in various parishes, organizing events such as sharing sessions on evangelization videos and religious adventures.

Sai Wan Ho Holy Cross Church Youth Catechism Class
(10/2024 – 11/2024)
We held three training sessions for the youth catechism class of Holy Cross Church, aiming to deepen the young people's understanding of dating and love. The three sessions were themed "Knowing Yourself", "The Differences Between Men and Women", and "Dating, Marriage and Family" respectively.
In the first session, after using cards to get to know the students briefly and the "weather report", they learned to understand and share their own and others' characteristics through activities such as drawing handboards and treasure cards. This shows that everyone has received a gift from God. He created each of us uniquely out of love, so that we can also learn to love others. In the second session, a video was used to show the differences between men and women in personality and thinking, so that they can learn to understand each other. After that, through "auctioning" the different characteristics of the ideal type in their minds, they can learn more about their own views and expectations of their other half. In the third session, through simulated dating activities, young people can recognize their expectations for couple relationships, learn the meaning of relationships, which is to love and serve each other, and also recognize the Catholic values of marriage.
Young people actively participated and shared in the gatherings of the festivals. Everyone deepened their understanding of themselves and at the same time planted the seeds of love in their hearts, hoping that they could contribute to their own partnerships when they grow up.
Mary Help of Christians Church - Youth Rosary and Eucharistic Adoration Gathering & Post-Event Get-Together (5/2022)
In the month of May, the month of our Lady, we are collaborating with the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help to organize a youth gathering for the Rosary and Eucharistic Adoration.
The program includes adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, worship and praise, and recitation of the Rosary.
We have also invited Father Denis Kong to share the importance of the Rosary and to administer individual blessings for Eucharistic healing. Additionally, we have invited friendly youth to share their personal testimonies about the Blessed Mother and the Rosary.
After the event, we will have a post-event get-together in the courtyard of the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, where participants will deepen relationships through games and activities.
