"ShineUp" (hereinafter referred to as "the service") is a service provided by the Christian Youth Association (hereinafter referred to as "the organization") starting from August 2020.

Service Objective

To provide emotional and psychological support to young people aged 18-35 who are facing difficulties.

The organization's volunteer team will provide the service to those in need through the internet, social media, and text messaging during specific periods.

All "ShineUp" service users are kindly requested to read the following terms and conditions before using the service.

Important Disclaimer

The volunteer team of "ShineUp" primarily provides emotional and psychological support to young people as their companions. The organization does not provide services from professional medical personnel or other licensed professionals (e.g., social workers or lawyers).

Terms and Conditions Revision

The terms may be appropriately updated or modified according to different situations. Revised terms will become effective immediately after being uploaded on the organization's website. Service users are kindly requested to stay informed and review the latest revised terms on the organization's website.

The volunteer team under "ShineUp" shall not be held responsible for any decisions, consequences, or actions taken by you/third parties in connection with the use of this service or based on the information provided by the service.

Without prejudice to the above rights, the organization shall not be liable for any special, incidental, or consequential damages.

As the internet is not completely secure and reliable, we cannot guarantee complete prevention of unauthorized access to the system. Third-Party Services

Service users may contact us through approved third-party websites, applications, or services (such as Signal, hereinafter referred to as "third-party services"). The terms only apply to service users and "ShineUp." We are not responsible for any policies, terms, and conditions related to third-party services.

If you contact us through third-party services, you are bound by both the "ShineUp" service terms and the third-party service terms and their policies. Therefore, we recommend that you review all relevant terms and policies.

Jurisdictional Law and Overseas Users

All service rules and terms of "ShineUp" are governed by Hong Kong law and interpreted in accordance with Hong Kong law, without regard to principles of conflicts of law.

Both the organization and service users agree that all matters and disputes arising from or related to this service shall be under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.

The service operates in Hong Kong. If you are located outside of Hong Kong, please be aware that the information you provide will be collected in Hong Kong and used in accordance with Hong Kong law. By using "ShineUp" and/or providing us with your information, you agree to the collection, transfer, and use of your information as described above.
